Time for tea!
With autumn on it's way, I think we can happily start partaking in afternoon tea! What do you say?
Here's a lovely light tea loaf for you to try!
Earl Grey Tea Loaf with lemon and poppy seeds
270 g of self raising flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of poppy seeds
1 shot of strong earl grey tea
125 g unsalted butter
200 g of caster sugar
zest of three lemons
3 large free range eggs
juice of half a lemon
Splash of milk
Combine the butter and sugar until its pale and fluffy.
Add the eggs, tea, lemon juice and rind.
Add the poppy seeds.
Fold in the flour and baking powder.
Use milk if the mix is a little stiff.
Pour into your prepared fruit loaf tin.
Bake for an hour at 160.
